Studio Policies

Registration / Enrolment Policy
It is a requirement of The Dance Gallery Newcastle for all students to be correctly registered before
participating in any dance classes conducted by our teachers. Registration fees must be paid at the
commencement of each dancing year. Students re-enrolling each year must complete a new registration
form. Acceptance of enrolment and registration is at the sole discretion of the Studio Principal.

Medical Consent
Any dance class can involve risk or personal injury. I understand that The Dance Gallery Newcastle takes all
reasonable care in the conduct of its’ classes, it accepts no responsibility for injury or loss caused during
classes or whilst students/participants are at or near the dance studio. Parents/Guardians are responsible
for ensuring that their child (the student) is physically and medically fit for the class.

Emergency Procedures
A stocked first aid kit is accessible to all classes at all times. Teachers also carry updated lists of emergency
telephone numbers including local ambulance, police and fire brigade. In the event of a medical
emergency, the teacher will endeavor to contact parents immediately. If parents are un-contactable, I
understand the teacher reserves the right to call for ambulance service if deemed necessary.

Photography, Video/DVD & Website Release
I understand when enrolling at The Dance Gallery, that upon occasion, The Dance Gallery may organise
an individual or group to make official recordings of our dancers at events such as but not limited to our
annual concert, costume day, public performances and regular classes. I understand that Video/DVD
recordings and photographs are available to parents, are distributed through the studio and may be
displayed on our website.

Attendance
I understand that regular attendance is very important. Each dancer is essential to the whole class group
and to their teacher. The studio must be notified if a dancer is to miss a scheduled lesson.

Fees
Fees for lessons can be paid by the term or by the week.

I understand that if I choose to pay by the term, fees must be received by the end of the first week of term.
Discounts apply to term payments. I understand that if I choose to pay by the week, classes must be paid
for on the day the lesson takes place.

All fees MUST be placed in an envelope with the dancers name, date, type of class, fees enclosed written
clearly on the front. Dancers will not be allowed to participate in classes if fees have not been paid prior to
the commencement of lessons. Please note that once a child is enrolled in a class all missed lessons must
be paid for. Please be aware that class teachers are not in a position to discuss a dancer’s fees and all
queries need to be directed to the Studio Principal.

Withdrawal
I understand that if my dancer decides to withdraw, the Studio Principal must be officially informed and I
understand I am responsible for fees that will continue to accrue as the student’s place is held in the class.

Missed Lessons
Unfortunately refunds or credits cannot be made for classes that are missed, however, students may take a
‘make-up’ lesson with in a comparable class, within the same term. Missed lessons do not carry over into a
new term.

Email Communication
The Dance Gallery sends regular email newsletters during the term. Please ensure that your email address is
on file and correct. A hard copy will be available for viewing on the notice board at our studio. Please
